Postmodernism
Postmodernism is a Western philosophy which is difficult to define as it has no definite terms,
boundaries or absolute truths exist. It is a philosophical movement which is very against the philosophical assumptions and values of the modern period of Western history.
Postmodernists tend to believe that there is no such thins as Truth. This, in fact, is due to the arguable statements by scientists and historians. I mean, they're not wrong about this. Some theories and stories do have different versions stated by different people. It is expected that future societies will be more enlightened and prosperous than they already are now. Well, guess what? Postmodernists don't believe in this. Their idea is that the misguided pursuit of scientific and technological knowledge are immanently destructive and oppressive with the use of people with bad intentions to oppress others.
Postmodernists also have their own opinion on reason and logic, which are actually universally valid. They suggest that reason and logic only valid within the established intellectual traditions. Postmodernists also argues science. They believe that the aspects of human psychology are completely socially determined.
If I may state my own personal opinion on this, I actually agree with these postmodernists. Theories on science and history are pretty convincing, sure. But who has the authority to define truth or impose upon others idea of moral right and wrong?
Think about it.
